Career Coach Reviews - Liz’s Story
“I would say it is absolutely worth it if you are willing to genuinely engage in the process. Alex combines warmth and support with real structure, insight and practicality. The value for me extended well beyond my immediate career move – it also gave me tools and self-awareness that continue to help me professionally and personally.”
Why did you decide to find a career coach? - What were you feeling about your work/job/career, and about yourself, that you wanted to change?
I decided to work with a career coach when my role had been made redundant and I wanted to make sure my next move was the right one, not simply the next opportunity available. I was looking for more clarity about what genuinely suited me, more confidence in my decisions, and a better understanding of my strengths, drivers and what I needed in order to perform at my best.
How easy/hard did you find the career coaching course, what was your favourite part and what did you learn about yourself?
I found the course highly valuable. It required real reflection and effort, but that was part of what made it worthwhile. My favourite part was how structured and evidence-based it was. I learned a great deal about my strengths, values, needs and blind spots, and those insights have stayed with me long after the coaching finished.
How has working with a career coach changed your levels of clarity and confidence about your career?
It gave me much greater clarity and confidence about the type of role, leader and environment that would suit me best. That helped me make better decisions, set stronger boundaries, and be more selective rather than chasing every opportunity that came along.
How has working with a career coach changed your self-confidence and self-esteem?
It strengthened both my confidence and my self-belief. I came away with a much clearer understanding of my strengths and value, which reduced overthinking and helped me trust myself more. It also helped me focus on finding the right fit, rather than trying to fit myself into the wrong opportunities.
What would you say to anyone who is considering working with Alex as their career coach but not sure if they should do it?
I would say it is absolutely worth it if you are willing to genuinely engage in the process. Alex combines warmth and support with real structure, insight and practicality. The value for me extended well beyond my immediate career move – it also gave me tools and self-awareness that continue to help me professionally and personally.
