Why did you decide to find a career coach? - What were you feeling about your work/job/career, and about yourself, that you wanted to change?

I was feeling somewhat stuck in the role I had, and was struggling to find a way to articulate (both to myself and any future employer) why I wanted to look at a change.

How easy/hard did you find the career coaching course, what was your favourite part and what did you learn about yourself?

The coaching forced an internal perspective that is all too easy to ignore. The insights I learned about my motivations were quite a revelation, but very familiar at the same time. I simply hadn’t been able to identify them in myself before the course.

How has working with a career coach changed your levels of clarity and confidence about your career?

I now have absolute clarity on what my motivations are – both in my role and as my reason for wanting to look for a new opportunity. It has gave me significant confidence to be able to tell the story during interviews.

How has working with a career coach changed your self-confidence and self-esteem?

The course gave me clarity into what motivates me. That gave me a greater level of confidence in why I wanted to make a change. It allowed me to identify the right role to move to, rather than just a ‘next’ role.

What would you say to anyone who is considering working with Alex as their career coach but not sure if they should do it?

Trust the process. The sessions build on each other, but the real revelations come towards the end of the course as the various tools converge.

The course absolutely allowed me to be successful in finding my next role. It allowed me to articulate a ‘why’ in a way that most candidates would not be able to. The self awareness that the course gave me also resonated heavily with potential interviewers.
